Neeta Lulla and her husband were waiting for Divya to return home at Tulsi II (the building). They were there at 10 p.m. and Divya returned at 11 p.m. accompanied by her brother Kunaal. Her brother had dinner and left. Sajid also left saying he had some work at Lokhandwala.
" ... Divya was drinking, but it has not yet been established if she was drunk. We have a statement as to the cause of death. The actual post mortem report we will receive after five days. Then we will know if it's drink or drugs or whatever else.
" ... Divya opened the sliding windows and climbed out facing inwards. Then she went on her knees and reached the narrow parapet. It was while she was moving to the left, that she lost her balance and fell backwards.
" ... She was taken to the Cooper Hospital where she was declared dead. Her body reached the hospital at 12.20 p.m. and the police were informed at 12.30. She is supposed to have died due to cerebral haemorrhage and injury to vital parts. Her left leg had broken and the bone had pierced through her hips. " ... Until now, it is suicide. Though we haven't ruled out the possibility of an accident or foul play.
" ... In my personal capacity, I cannot come to any conclusion. The main coroner's report will only be available after five days. And we are still investigating into the death. We cannot state for a fact whether she was under the influence of liquor or drugs. We will be in a better position to comment after the main post mortem report..."
